The importance of salt is evident in Cherokee history and mythology. Due to the importance of salt, it was often stored in pottery jars and wooden bowls in the home. This handmade salt cellar represents a continuation of that tradition. Each cellar is made of high-fired glazed ceramic for durability and beauty.  Included is a small wooden spoon that measures about 1/4 teaspoon, just enough for when a recipe calls for a “pinch of salt.”
